ok this is a weird thing. I was reading genesis 1 & 2 this morning. I haven’t read much of the bible, for a while but I decided to start at the begininng. The first thing I noticed is that in 1:16 at the end it states that God also made the stars. I dont understand what that means. So he made all the stars in the universe when he created earth? Did none of the other planets want or need stars. Interesting.
The second thing I noticed is that in chapter 1 and 2 the same story is told only the stories differ. Chapter 1 states that God created all the earth, then created man and woman and told them to look at all the plants and animals, which he had all over the earth.
Then in chapter 2 it says 2:5 "there were no plants or grain growing on the earth because he had not sent rain, and man was no one there to cultivate the soil."
Then it goes on to say that God created adam, then went planted a garden, put him in the garden, told him about the tree of good/evil THEN he made eve.
So my question is why are there two contradicting stories within a chapter of eachother.
Then I was reading in 2 peter 3:8, it’s talking about God outlasting time, "you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand yrs to the Lord, and a thsand years is like a day. (2peter 3:8)NLT.
This makes me think that creation in itself isn’t all that far-fetched. God could have taken a 6000 years to create the earth. A thousand years for each ’day’ which they call it in the bible. By way of natural selection, or possibly just letting time take it’s course and doing what he saw necessary. That could explain alot of why some scientists believe the earth is so old. It’s quite alot to think on, and I have more to do.
